Welcome to Metamorphosis Monday hosted by Susan at Between Naps on the Porch"!
So let's Address this...
When it comes to displaying your house numbers, where exactly do you have yours? Does your mailbox have your numbers on it? Or do you have them displayed by your front door? I've seen them displayed on a pane of glass above a front door, or even on the front door itself. Sometimes you will see those cute, fancy little plaques for the yard or next to the door! My numbers are on a oval plaque with brass numbers on my house.
I found these cute, tin, flower pots, with enamel number tags a few weeks ago at Marshall's. As soon as I saw them I knew what I wanted to do with them. I ran out to Walmart and picked up some hot pink wave petunias and some vinca vine. Pretty simple but I think they came out cute. I had seen this idea when I was blog hopping, awhile back. So cute, I can't wait until its warm enough to put them outside by my front door or my mailbox. Funny how you see something that you love and keep the idea filed away...then one day out shopping, there it is...love it when that happens!
I've been looking at my front door lately and thinking it's time to change it out! It's painted in burgundy, but I want it to be a bright "Cherry" Red. Once I found the color I want, I'm going to change it. First I need the weather to get a little warmer.
Knock, Knock, Whose There?
What Does Your Front Door's Color Say About You?
I want my door to say, "come one in."
A sunny yellow door~
You are happily helpful. You are social, giving, and very community oriented. You like to feel like you're making a difference in the world. Friendly and optimistic, you are a very welcoming person. You like to bring people together. You are the perfect host.
A black door~
Your Door Says You Are Widely Influential
You are elegant, fashionable, and quite intimidating.
You wield a lot of power. And that's what scares people!
You are reserved and difficult to know.
Those who know you know that you are strong, consistent, and reliable.
A red door~
Your Door Says You Are Brutally Honest
You are bold, brave, and easily excited.
You are passionate about what you believe.
And you're never afraid to tell people exactly what you think.
You're picky and particular. It's sometimes hard to meet your standards.
A green door~
You are traditional and conventional.
You aim for the best in life, and you're not going to risk not getting it.
You are naturally stylish and sophisticated.
You feel like you are blending in with the crowd, but your good taste makes you stand out.
An orange door~
You are fun, outgoing, and incredibly cheerful.
Life is an choose-your-own adventure for you.
And there's no way you're choosing the beaten path.
You have a warm personality. At times, you feel in love with the whole world
For blue...
Your Door Says You Are Universally Alluring.
You are intriguing and charming.
People are naturally drawn to you, even if they don't know you.
You are calm and wise. You are a true leader.
You never feel isolated in a group. Somehow, you always belong.
A purple door~
Your Door Says You Are Absurdly Fanciful
You are daring, unusual, and extravagant.
You are like an eccentric wealthy person...
Even if you don't have the money to back it up yet.
You crave luxury. You love to feel rich.
A white door~
You have simple tastes.
You like the classic basics, especially when they're done well.
Lots of space in your life is very important.
You don't like physical or mental clutter.
And here's one to think about, they say if your front door IS white, you'll be cleaning your front door more than the rest of us!
So tell me what does your front door say about you? Come on tell me...
Your secret is safe with me.
I know that I need to get out and spruce up my front door and get it ready for you to visit!
Head over to apartmenttherapy.com and take their Front Door Test. Although, I already did the basic colors for you!

PS regarding door color: mine is white, and never gave the whole thing much thought. Just the trim color of the house. =)
That is such a cute idea, Kim! My door is green and I have the house number on it and above the numbers is a pocket vase with flowers. On the floor are 2 topiaries and a bike planter with flowering plants. We also have the numbers on the mailbox.
ReplyDeleteI love these planters. I can't wait to go out and recreate this for my porch. You are an inspiration.
ReplyDeleteLove the buckets, and the flowers (zingy colors!) and the numbers and then the addition of the chubby little birds, just perfect! Very cute and clever! BTW, our front door is multi paned varnished wood. I wanted to paint it red but the hubs is a wood finish kind of guy. So he got the wood door, I got the red chairs in the livingroom. Win win!
ReplyDeleteI love the buckets with the numbers. They will look so cute on your front porch. I wish we had a Marshall's around here. Oh well, I'll have to get inspiration from you and come up with something myself. Thanks for visiting me so I could find you.
ReplyDeleteHi Kim,
ReplyDeleteDid I tell you that my sister's name is also Kim and she used to do flower arrangements as a business. She now owns two lazboy furniture stores. Anyway, I love your sweet numbered posts and birds. That's a great idea for house numbers.
I need to spruce up my front doors. I have double glass door and it's hard to decorate with wreaths.
Maybe you host a "Show Your Front Door,"
I bet you there would be many participants.
hugs
Sissie
Thanks for stopping by my blog! LOVE the flower pot numbers. Such a cute idea!
ReplyDeleteKim, That was fascinating! First, I love those numbers...second, our front door used to be black and one day I just up and painted it red...like lipstick on the house! In my minds eye though...deep down, I want to be purple. Thanks for a fun post!
ReplyDeleteCute planters! Next weekend is going to be my big weekend for trying to get some plants in the ground. Hope that mine look as pretty as yours!
ReplyDeletePopped over here from Metamorphosis Mondays!
