My "TWEET" Tablescape Thursday...

Thank you for visiting me for Tablescape Thursday hosted by Susan at Between Naps on the Porch! Please visit Susan to see what she and her participants are sharing today!

I designed this week’s tablescape using three "Tweet" Birdhouses, A Little Cloche with a birds nest inside, ceramic crackled birds; sitting on grapevine nests and a few other birds scattered about. The ceramic white bird finial was purchased from Michaels as was the tin bird above the birdhouses.

The table cloth and napkins where recently purchased at Home Goods. They are Ralph Lauren in yellow and blue floral. The napkin rings are a pretty blue, with jewel like circles, I thought they were pretty and added more whimsy to the table. The round yellow place mats where a recent purchase from Bed, Bath and Beyond. I wanted the place mat to make the plates stand out from the floral table cloth. The wine glasses; also from Home Goods are Palm. The White ironstone plates are from JC Penney. I just had to have the precious blue and white polka dot plates with the little bead trim. I spotted them at Home Goods, and had to have them along with the square polka dot bowls to match! They are the sweetest set of dishes; I am really going to enjoy using them in many ways.

I hope you enjoyed my "Tweet" tablescape as much as I enjoyed designing it. I hope your day is filled with Sunshine. Your kind comments are very much appreciated!

I read this recently at another blog, (I'm sorry I can't remember which one) and will leave you with this:

Hope is the thing with feathers
That perches in the soul,
And sings the tune without words,
And never stops at all
.

"Mother's Day Centerpiece" for Transformation Thursday

I'm joining in the fun with Gina at The Shabby Chic Cottage for Transformation Thursday!

I wanted to share a beautiful centerpiece that I created for a "Mother's Day Table" at my house. I used a garden tray that I have had for a long time; I think I may have purchased it from Big Lots. I forgot to take a picture of the inside of the tray before I filled it; it was divided into four sections. I filled the tray with beautiful purple and yellow pansies along with purple and white violets. I then added some Vinca vine, so I would have something draping over the edges of the tray. I tucked in some white doilies for an extra touch of charm, a large off white bird and a smaller bird with a crackle finish sitting on a nest. I decided to tuck in a green pillar candle holder and topped it with an off white candle. For the back drop I picked two birdhouses and one of my topiaries to add some height to the centerpiece. I attached a bluebird to one of the birdhouses for a bit of color. The centerpiece is sitting on a purple floral scarf that normally would be around my neck. I thought it looked nice with the centerpiece, what do you think?

I had no plan when I began to design this, it just came together as it is, and I’ve never seen anything quite like this and thought it was so pretty with the candle mixed in with the flowers. In the evening it looks so pretty all a glow on the table. I've had it for over two weeks and it still looks nice. I will be sad when I have to take it apart and plant the flowers, but there is always a new design to be made and I look forward to creating something else unique.

Happy Mother's Day to you, I hope you are blessed and receive a beautiful floral arrangement on your special day. Or you can do like I did and create something special for yourself.

Thank you for visiting and leaving your sweet comments. I really appreciate you taking the time out of your busy day to say, "Hi"!
