I made these adorable floral door hangers to hang on the outside of my front door, they were made to match my Easter Basket Wreath that I had already hung. I made these especially for Easter but they will be perfect right through spring time and into summer. You can also hang a set inside your door like Sherry at: creationsfrommyheart.blogspot.com does. Thank you Sherry for sharing your beautiful creations and inspiring me! I can't wait to make more door hangers for each season and I will be making some for Mother's Day Gift's. Maybe you will be a lucky recipient of a set of these...

Did you know that you can keep your flowers fresh much longer if you add a bit of sugar and vinegar to the water.

A bouquet of flowers can brighten up any room, but before long, they start to wilt and die. “Taking care of your flowers will help them last longer,” and there’s no need to buy an expensive preservative. Follow these simple steps to keep your fresh looking beautiful much longer with common household ingredients.

Step 1: Add 1 quart warm water to a clean vase or any container.

Step 2: Pour 2 Tbsp sugar into the water. The sugar will help feed the flowers and promote opening of the blooms.

Step 3: Add 2 Tbsp white vinegar and mix together well. The vinegar will help stop the growth of bacteria and will keep your arrangement fresher longer. If you don’t have vinegar and/or sugar, lemon-lime soda mixed with the water will do the same thing for your flowers.

Step 4: Remove all lower leaves from flowers so there won’t be any in the water.

Step 5: Cut about 1 to 2 inches off the stems at an angle while they held under water.

Step 6: Arrange your flowers in the vase or container.

Step 7: Keep your bouquet in a cool, but not too cool area. Avoid direct sun, which will cause the flowers to die off more rapidly.

Step 8: Change the water every other day and re-cut the stems each time.

Step 9: Enjoy your long-lasting flowers for days to come!

Watering Can Arrangement

This french country watering can is filled with Purple and White Rhinoculous, accented with Purple Forget Me Nots and Sweet Peas. I also added a bit of Bear Grass as a filler. This summer silk arrangement looks as though you picked the flowers and set them in a watering can for a very relaxed, informal arrangement.
